Gary M. Roberfs
After serving in the Army for three years, Chief Roberts turned to law enforcement. He began his career in 1980 with the Savannah Police Department and retired in 2018. After a short retirement, he joined the Brooklet Police Department in May of 2019. He was appointed chief in October of 2020.

Chief Roberts holds a Masters Degree in Education as well as a Doctorate in Theology and  studied Criminal Justice through Penn Foster College.  He has previously taught school at the high school and college levels, and is an ordained Baptist minister.

Chief Roberts is also a sworn deputy with the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.

Mary Renteria has been serving as the Municipal Court Clerk for the City of Brooklet since 2013. In addition to her clerk duties, she also is the evidence custodian, the Police clerk, and the Local Agency Security Officer, making her the department's liaison to the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC), and The National Crime Information Center, or (NCIC). She says she most enjoys interacting with the public, residents. and her peers.

Officer Jesse Morrison worked in Bulloch County After School program while pursued a Criminal Justice and Criminology degree which he obtained in May of 2019. He also has extensive training as a 1013 officer working with people in distress that may possibly have an altered mental status or mental disability.

Officer Morrison is also a sworn deputy with the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office

Officer John Dailey has an Associate Degree in Business Administration from East Georgia State College.

He has worked as a police officer for East Georgia State College Police Department  and Twin City Police Department.

Officer Dailey is a certified instructor for CPR, First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillators (AED)

Detective Brandy Hewett began her career in Law Enforcement with the Savannah Police Department in 2015 where she became a detective in Special victims Unit. She specialized in Domestic Violence Cases and sexual assault. She has extensive  experience in preparing court cases and investigating violent crimes.

Detective Hewett joined Brooklet Police Department March 14, 2022 and along with patrol duties she heads up our investigative unit.

Detective Hewett has a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with a minor in Art.
